About me

Born and raised on the coast of New Jersey, Steve received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Romance Languages from Boston College in 1988.
A year-long walkabout through the Spanish Basque Country and the Canary Islands after college polished both his language skills and photographic eye, and shortly after returning to the northeast he relocated to San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1992 to pursue photography more seriously.
Since then his corporate clients include Heineken, Quiksilver, Hurley Int'l., Proctor & Gamble, Hanes, Colgate Palmolive, Walgreens, Coliseo de Puerto Rico, Caribbean Heli Jets, and Banco Popular while his work also appears as editorial in international publications including SURFER, The Surfer's Path, The Surfer's Journal, Australian Surfing Life, Rolling Stone, and Men's Journal among others.
In January of 2009 Steve was recognized as 2008 Photographer of the Year by Eastern Surf Magazine for his death defying coverage of that year's Swell of the Century in March.
